Amble Oakland Concert reviews
Tool Amazing
1. The VIP idea was awesome, and I really liked the way it worked and was organized. Carls did a great job with the food, ensuring that we did not get soggy food or cold fries.
2. All the bands put on an unreal show, with the stage and sound system being about as good as it gets. They were all interacting with the fans, creating a real family atmosphere that we all love.
3. I go to a lot of hard core shows like Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, and Job For A Cowboy, so it was nice not seeing a lot of fights and stuff at this event.
4. Lots of stuff to say about the show. I liked the way the whole event was kinda low key, with no fights as far as I know. The bands were just as excited to be there as everyone else, creating a friendly and party-like atmosphere.
5. Amble was amazing, as always, and Alice in Chains sounded like the old days. The vocals were the same, and I could not tell the two singers apart. Wolfmother was also great, even better than when I saw them at Street Scene in 2006.
6. SSSC was an excellent surprise, and Tom Morello was fantastic with his new band. The only thing I would like to see improved is a little shorter wait time between sets, especially for the last two bands, as 30 or 40 minutes in front of the stage feels like a long time.
7. Did not run out of food or water like most all-day shows do, thanks to the free water and Powerade. The bands, including Maynard who showed up despite breaking his foot, put on a fantastic performance.
